What do the CMA's changes mean for online pharmacies?
The CMA's March 2026 report on veterinary services requires vets, from March 2027 for larger groups and September 2027 for smaller practices, to tell clients in writing that medicines may be cheaper online, and to issue a written prescription within 48 hours on request. How do I know a prescription is genuine?
The owner gives you one code for the whole prescription. Enter it in the pharmacy portal and the vet's original signed script appears on screen. Each code redeems exactly once, and every event is timestamped, so a script can't be altered, copied or presented twice.
How are pharmacies ranked?
By total price to the owner, delivery included, cheapest first. No one can pay to move up the results, and independent pharmacies are clearly flagged. You win business by being the most competitive option.
Which pharmacies can appear on fetchpharm?
UK-regulated online pharmacies only. We check accreditation before a pharmacy can appear in an owner's results, so owners never have to wonder whether a site is legitimate.
Can I advertise to pet owners on fetchpharm?
Yes. Ads appear on the price comparison page, labelled as ads, and can be targeted to the prescription being compared, such as the pet's species and medicine. Ads never change the order of the results. Every ad is checked by our team before it goes live, and advertisers never see an owner's name, email or prescription.
